Challenge: Reelect an incumbent and political newcomer for a labor-friendly Chula Vista City Council.
The San Diego - Imperial Counties Labor Council sought to reelect Councilman Steve Castaneda and elect political newcomer, Pamela Bensoussan, to tip control of the Council away from Republican Cheryl Cox. This would create a new majority friendly to workers and residents.
BNA partnered with the Labor Council and created three direct mail pieces to highly targeted voters. The mailers highlighted Castaneda and Bensoussan’s dedication to fighting to put the residents of Chula Vista first.
The campaign was a success as Castaneda and Bensoussan took their seats on the Council. The big winners were the people of Chula Vista.
